Funding is intended to develop new programming and enhance existing programs. The goal of the grant program is to help vulnerable community members through one-on-one pro bono financial planning sessions. In addition, the Alexandra Armstrong Innovation Grant will be awarded to a nonprofit organization that demonstrates creativity and potential for impact in its programming.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International Master's and PhD candidates for projects to substantially reduce the use of animals for educational or scientific purposes. Funding is intended to devise alternative research, testing, and educational methodologies. Eligible uses of funds include tuition, salary, and supplies.

Grants of $1,000 to USA nonprofit community-based organizations for activities that support local children. Funding is intended to benefit children under the age of 18. Eligible organizations align with one of the following areas of interest: education, welfare, health, and aid to children. Grants may be requested for any purpose related to providing benefits for children but preference will be given to those funding children’s programming.

Grants of $500 to USA, Canada, and International artists to create art depicting different aspects of nature. Applicants are required to contact the funding source to receive an application. Artwork may be produced in any type of medium, including painting, sculpture, photography, and digital art. Priority will be given to artwork submitted by artists from underrepresented communities and regions, as well as applicants from places or countries where there is a lack of funding available to artists.

The award is intended to recognize a teacher of grades 6-8 who has inspired and motivated students and demonstrated excellence in teaching. The winning teacher will be honored at the Middle-Level Section Luncheon during the NCTE Annual Convention.

The Foundation promotes the founder’s generosity and passion for cooking by supporting individuals who seek organizations that create pathways to success through culinary professionalism and technique.

Award of $1,000 to a USA or Puerto Rico blind teacher to recognize outstanding community service and classroom performance. Eligible nominees are those who exhibit the traits of advocacy, love, and guidance while advancing the cause of blind people in the spirit and philosophy of the National Federation of the Blind. In addition to the cash prize, applicants will receive an inscribed plaque.

Award of $1,000 and in-kind support to a USA or Puerto Rico educator to recognize outstanding instruction to blind students. The program is intended to recognize an innovative and dedicated classroom teacher, counselor, or administrator who provides their blind students with meaningful experiences and opportunities and quality education.

Grants of up to $35,000 to USA nonprofit organizations to support healthcare for disadvantaged women. Funding is intended for activities related to reproductive rights. The purpose of the program is to educate women regarding their reproductive health options. Programs that incorporate advocacy or policy change, consistent with IRS 501(c)(3) status, are of particular interest.

Fellowships to USA postdoctoral and senior researchers to support work at federal and affiliated laboratories. Applicants must contact the relevant research adviser prior to submitting an application. Selected applicants will be granted tenure as guest researchers at participating laboratories, highlighting their outstanding contributions and potential in their respective fields.
